DEPRESIE
"Keď sú skladby na album hotové, keď je tvorba obalu ukončená a všetko je zvládnuté, vtedy som prázdny. Keď stráviš toľký čas s niečím a tak tvrdo na tom pracuješ, potom zrazu to máš nechať tak, cítiš sa prázdny. Viem že vtedy budem na hrane keď sa to stane. Je to súčasť kolobehu."
INŠPIRÁCIA
"Inšpirácia je zvláštna. Môže vzísť z niečoho takého prostého ako je úsmev inej osoby. Je to motýlí efekt, špirálovitý. Vždy som bol prekvapený akú cestu prešiel ten malý kúsok inšpirácie po vznik piesne. Vždy je to iné a to je to čo to robí cenným. je to zázrak. Proste sa to prirodzene stane a potom nasleduje toľko krokov že ľahko môžeš stratiť zo zreteľa kde to všetko začalo."
VZŤAHY
"Veľa ľudí berie vzťahy veľmi egoisticky. Rozmýšľajú o tom čo im ten druhý môže ponúknuť. Myslím, že človek by mal zvážiť čo on môže ponúknuť tomu druhému. Vzťahy boli vždy pre mňa výzvou a mám pocit že najviac úprimný o nich môžem byť práve prostredníctvom hudby. Jediný problém je že keď píšeš pieseň o niekom, je škoda že musíš čakať šesť mesiacov kým album vydajú kým môžeš prezentovať svoje myšlienky. Je to zvrátené, ale taktiež trocha sexy pretože je to také kľukaté a pokrútené."
ŽIVOT
"Pokašleš veľa vecí, akceptuj to a choď ´ďalej. Čo iné môžeš? Choď stále vpred a pamätaj na to že nie si jediný – každý má svoje problémy. Ľudia nosia množstvo masiek a predstierajú ale každý s niečím bojuje."
TRAGÉDIE
"Je napísaných veľa smutných piesní, ale nie je dobré ju úmyselne vyhľadávať. Aj tak je dosť neočakávaných tragédií. Rovnako, neočakávam zlo a zlé situácie len preto aby som dostal na hubu. Pokladám to za hlúposť. Je to jednoduché. Každý tak môže konať. Pokiaľ by som skutočne chcel, môžem skočiť z okna alebo byť skutočný hajzel a písať o tom skladby. Ide ale o tom, že mám výchovu."
DEPRESSION
"When the music’s done for an album, when the cover artwork is finished and everything is mastered, then I’ll be empty. When you spend so much time on something and you work so hard on it, then all of a sudden you have to let it go, you feel hollow. I know I’ll be on the edge when that happens. That’s part of the cycle."
INSPIRATION
"Inspiration is an odd thing. It can come from something as simple as a smile from another person. It’s like a butterfly effect, it spirals from there. I’ve always been surprised by the journey from that small piece of inspiration to a song. It’s always different and that’s what makes it worth it. It is miraculous. It just happens organically and there are so many steps along the way that you can easily lose sight of where it all started."
RELATIONSHIPS
"A lot of people think really egotistically about relationships. They think about what the other person can offer them. I think you should consider what you can offer the other person. I’ve always been challenged by relationships and I feel I can be the most honest about them through music. The only problem is that when you write a song about a person, it’s a shame you have to wait for six months for the album to come out before you can present your thoughts. That’s perverse but it’s kind of sexy as well because it´s so crooked and twisted."
LIFE
"You’re going to get shit thrown at you, accept it and keep going. What else is there? Keep going forward and know that you’re not the only one – everyone’s got their problems. People wear so many masks and pretend things are okay, but everyone struggles with something."
TRAGEDY
"There are a lot of sad songs to be written but you can’t look for tragedy on purpose. There’s enough of it unintentionally. In the same way, I don’t go looking for bad and evil situations just to get fucked up on purpose and who fuck up on purpose. I find that really disturbing. That’s easy. Anyone can do it. If I really wanted to, I could jump out of the window now or be a really nasty fucker and write a song about it. The thing is, I have a set of ethics."
